07/02/2012In the Philippines sometimes it is easier to get out than to get in!

Reverse Jail Break   In Medellin, Cebu Province, Philippines an Escaped Fugitive called the Warden and asked the Warden to come pick him up and take him back to Jail.  Kim Invento had escape from Jail a few days earlier and was prepared to go back.  Invento was afraid that his escape would result in punishment for the entire Jail Population, and he was seeking some protection from this.  The bigger question, of course, is how did he escape.  Answer?  He walked out.     The Philippines has an "Open Door" Policy as it relates to coming and going in their Prisons. A few months ago, three Chinese Drug Dealers who spoke no English and no Tagalog were imprisoned.  They bribed one guard who help them serve a "drug laced" s...

26/01/2012Bad Start for the Philippine Prisona and Jail System

Bad Start for the Philippine Prison and Jail System   The Philippines has one of the most porous Jail and Prison Systems in the world.  A few months ago three Chinese Drug Dealers were able to escape by poisoning the guard’s food even though they could not speak Tagolog or English.   So, The Philippine Department of the Interior and Local Government announced a 2012 Goal of “No More Prison/Jail Breaks.”   Oops!     Just yesterday in the Navotas Jail, five inmates escaped.   How?   Well, they took a “saw” (who knows how they got a saw in Jail, but maybe it was issued to them along with their prison uniform) and sawed through the wooden beam in the ceiling that was holding the metal roof.&nbs...

    13/01/2012In Mississippi it's Kinda like a Jailbreak!

In Mississippi It is kinda like a “Jail Break.”     January, 2012 Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour pardoned 210 Prison Inmates.  Many of those “pardoned” where serving life sentences for murder.   I always thought a Pardon was given because the State made a mistake, but apparently not.   A Mississippi Judge has halted the Pardoning Process pending a review.     I am sure that there are those who will say that this is a rational and moral decision by the Governor, but, I don’t get it.
